Upgraded version of Mahjong from the Jongg CD original
Moraff's MahJonggis an upgrade to the developer's "Jongg CD" version of MahJongg which is one of the most popular solitaire games on the net.
The latest version of the game includes new tilesets, backgrounds, cursors, and game packs. To be precise, there are actually 75 tilesets, 75 backgrounds, 330 layouts, 110 cursors and 3 hours of music which can nevertheless become extremely tedious. The most welcome bonus is the ability to create and save your own game configurations giving you an added feeling of variety and customization to the game.
The goal of Moraff's MahJongg is the same as in every other version of the game - to eliminate each and every tile on the panel by pairing up identical tiles. The tiles must of course be at the ends and corners of the board however so they can't be between other tiles. It's hard to get excited about Moraff's MahJongg though other than that it's well presented and although the music can be irritating, it's very soothing at least for a while.
Moraff's MahJongg is a definite improvement on Jongg CD although it offers nothing special that other Mahjong games don't other than a slightly soothing soundtrack (for a while).

Moraff needs to update and upgrade to inspire new sales..
I was hoping that Moraff was interested in updating their Mahjongg, but this apparently not the case. In fact, from what I see here the latest graphics and a bit disappointing. Not up to their past standards. I payed the 2001 version and there were only two music choices. Not enjoyable. More

Not as good as the old version.
I had a really old version of MahJongg that I loved. I started to have problems with it so decided to download it again. This version is very disappointing. The cursor is annoying. The tiles are hard to see and it hurts my eyes after awhile. I wish I could find that old version to download. More

Disappointed.
I first played Moraffs Mahjongg while it was on a floppy disc as Shareware. I also had there first CD; back then it was considered the best arround so I was looking forward to this updated one. Sad to say very disappointing. The games have no numbers so you don't know which ones you've beaten; the game play is basic with no goals or trophies. There are far too many tile designs and backgrounds, they don't enhance the game. The 3D aspect has no value either.
On the plus side if basic is what you want with loads of layouts give it a try. More
